Goodbye 2020 and hello 2021, I am so happy to see you right now. With the whirlwind that was 2020 I would say most of us are probably not getting too serious about resolutions this year other then to survive. Although that sounds like a plan to me, if you are a little more ambitious like myself, keep reading!
Each January the world takes a second to decide what they want to improve upon in their lives for the new year. January feels fresh, clean, and the start of brand new everything. I myself fall into the category of "be more organized, be healthier, travel more etc." just as everyone else does. The issue I always find myself having is that I don't actually have a plan. I make a big broad goal, and then nothing gets done. So I have changed my resolution this year to Be Specific. No matter what goal I have first step is to get specific on how I get there.
Now to get into the few broad goals I have and what I plan to do to accomplish them. As the year goes on, fingers crossed, I can come back and write an update as to how they are going!
1. Being more organized: This is something that will touch almost every part of my life. Personally, professionally, financially etc. I could use better practices to keep on track and on top of my to do list.
For me this is going to include using my planner more for list making, breaking down not only monthly to do's, but weekly and even daily ones. I know that when I am ahead of what needs to be done, I am less stressed, feel more accomplished and can actually not feel guilty when relaxing.
2. Healthier Lifestyle: This is an ongoing struggle for a lot of us, and I feel my failure with it comes from my previous goal of getting more organized. When I feel overwhelmed, I tend to push off working out, cooking at home and sleeping enough. Starting out with how I plan my day is the best way to stay on track with exercising as well as planning out meals. I have a Peloton so no excuses for not getting it done : )
3. Consistency: Praying this doesn't bite me in the ass...but being more consistent in business (including this blog) is a huge goal of mine. Sometimes my passions get pushed aside because I feel uninspired, like an imposter, or annoying. Forgetting all those negative thoughts and preserving to be consistent is how to continue to grow. Everything I decide to put out doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to get put out.
4. Traveling: This one is a hopeful and based on what the world looks like and if countries will even let me visit, so fingers crossed. If not maybe I'll have to settle for the local park and cooking some dishes from the countries I wish I was at!
I could write on and on about what I want to do daily accomplish everything, but this is a start I'm happy with. Like I said it doesn't have to be perfect, I am my biggest critic anyway.
If you have any tips for staying on track, comment below and also let me know what your new year resolutions are!
